Laminator Machine Operator

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the operation of plastic films laminating equipment. The Laminating Machine Operator is responsible for producing lamination films within standard production efficiencies while verifying they meet customer specifications. Operators will have overall responsibility for the machine operation from set-up and manufacturing to maintenance and quality control/food packaging safety functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the laminator to laminate rolls of flexible plastic film, and paper for use in making products for food packaging.

  • Maintain acceptable production, waste, quality, and food packaging safety standards.

  • Visually inspect finished samples to ensure customer quality standards, and requirements are met.

  • Perform quality testing using various lab equipment and documenting results.

  • Complete production paperwork and data entry on PC in a timely manner.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment according to 5s principles.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and product quality issues

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and department safety rules.

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Educational

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

  • Prior experience in a flexible converting environment.

  • Good motor skills, mechanical dexterity and analytical skills are a plus.
     

Physical Demands

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
