Quality Manager/SQF Practitioner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Follows all safety requirements, policies and reports any unsafe conditions in the proper format
-
Monitor Quality at production lines and conduct periodic Quality Control checks
-
Lead quality investigations and customer processes for CAPAs, NCMRs, Complaints, and Deviations that are related to manufacturing jobs; review reports to ensure root cause analysis was performed using Quality tools (e.g. Ishikawa Diagram, 5 Why’s, DMAIC, etc.)

Review all CAPA’s NCMRs, Complaints and Deviations with appropriate departments/teams on a regular basis
-
Implement improvements to production processes that lead to overall increases in product quality
-
Ensure documentation and controls are appropriate for customers, organization, SQF and any additional required audits
-
Perform or assist in internal and external audits; write internal audit reports and follow-up on completion of any open corrections or corrective actions deemed necessary that were communicated and documented to the auditee
-
Educate and train plant personnel regarding quality control testing, equipment sanitation and general sanitation, 5S standards and housekeeping practices for new and existing employees
-
Review operational procedures and make recommendations to management to improve efficiency and project yields
-
Perform product structure analysis on potential and existing business
-
Assist in development of special projects and new products within facility and work in conjunction with VP Manufacturing
-
Exceed customer expectations about the product’s quality (to include product trials)
-
Utilize extensive knowledge of the product’s inner workings to diagnose problems
-
Actively participate in the morning production meeting/walk in a positive manner
-
Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping and organization in department to 5S Standards
-
Actively investigate and research newly developed Quality Control techniques and product testing equipment, recommend and implement changes as required
-
Communicate and maintain all quality related Key Performance Indicators at all levels with the facility
-
Manage all department resources and equipment to include calibrations and repairs
-
Complete annual review of all SQF 2000 programs and HACCP per the Internal Audit and Verification/Validation Schedule
-
Complete Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually and Annual inspections as required by the SQF system
-
Complete training to help all managers and employees understand food safety and quality requirements
-
Serve as SQF Practitioner after training requirements are met to:

Lead the development and implementation of Food Safety Fundamentals and the Food Safety Plan
-
Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF 2000 System
-
Take appropriate action whenever needed to maintain the integrity of the program:

Communicate to relevant personnel all information to ensure the effective implementation of the SQF 2000 System
-
Be available to cover absences or vacancies within the department as requested by Senior Management Team
-
Perform additional duties as assigned
